UCA, UWRSA & TGCU SIGN A JOINT ACTION AGREEMENT TO UPLIFT GRAIN STANDARDS IN THE COUNTRY (JAA)

nda Co-Operative Alliance Limited, Uganda Warehouse Receipt System Authority, Uganda Export Promotion Board, Uganda Cooperative Alliance (Uca) The Grain Council of Uganda Have Signed a Joint Action Agreement to promote growth and investment in the Ugandan Grain and Pulses sub sector, and to ensuring the investments result into feasible and economically viable incomes for stakeholders.

Under the agreement the Uganda Co-operative Alliance (UCA) Limited is to will among other roles assess Unions and ACEs Co-operatives for Storage Infrastructure investment projects and identify and map production centres for the main commodities including Coffee, Cotton, Tea and, grains and pulses.

The stakeholders above also promised to invest heavily in the strengthening of; productivity, agro-processing & value addition, marketing and financing mechanisms, to ensure increased incomes for stakeholders and improved quality and standards of produce and storage infrastructure that will eliminate aflatoxins that negatively impact the market of the commodities affected.
