UGANDA COOPERATIVE ALLIANCE SIGNS MOU WITH EXCEL HORT CONSULT TO SUPPORT COOPERATIVES IN BUSINESS GROWTH AND INCUBATION

Uganda Cooperative Alliance signed an MOU with Excel Hort Consult Agribusiness Incubator a private sector actor with expertise in business incubation to support growth and sustainability of startups and Small-scale enterprise.

The new partnership is aimed at supporting in the creation of area-based cooperatives and unions for startup -youth and women and other actors with common business development will be mentored in to Business hubs for cooperatives as they get skilled training.

The MoU also is intended to develop competence of cooperatives in enterprise selection business planning and enterprise management using incubation model.

Uganda Cooperative Alliance the umbrella body for all cooperatives in Uganda whose mandate is to advocate, build capacity of cooperatives and represent cooperatives at a national and international level. Will identify and recommend cooperatives to be engaged in training / incubation program with EHCAI. UCA through the MoU will also look at strengthening the capacity of cooperatives while providing relevant information to facilitate business cooperatives for sustainable Business.
