Statement on the state of affairs at the Uganda Cooperative Alliance Ltd

This is to update all our Members and Partners on the state of affairs at the Uganda Cooperative Alliance ltd, following numerous allegations that had put the organization in bad light.

There has been a systematic campaign fueled by detractors who had opted to use a section of the media to cause the publication of malicious allegations against Mr. Ivan Asiimwe the General Secretary of the Uganda Cooperative Alliance Ltd.

The allegations included forging of board minutes for his personal benefit, misuse of funds, and abuse of office among others. Some of these allegations were peddled by members of staff at the Uganda Cooperative Alliance.

Based on allegations in the UCA Staff petition, the UCA board undertook a thorough investigation and established that the allegations against Mr. Asiimwe were baseless & full of falsehoods intended to tarnish his name and career. Subsequently, the UCA Annual General meeting cleared Mr. Asiimwe Ivan of all the allegations, the Vice chairman of the Board Mr. Jacan Oyenya Ismail was dismissed for dishonesty and the Board mandated to clean the organization.

The Purpose of this Statement therefore is to inform you as our esteemed partner that the current state of affairs at Uganda Cooperative Alliance is very stable and well
