Based on the experienced training gaps, Uganda Cooperative Alliance (UCA) in partnership with Moshi University College of Cooperative and Business Studies has initiated a special training program on the professional management of SACCOs known as “Professional Financial Cooperative Management Program” or (PFCMP). Development International Desjardins (DID) through the financing of the government of Canada has provided technical support in the initiation, adaptation and development of the program. The program is also offered in Canada, Russia, Vietnam, Tanzania and several West African countries

.Overall Objective of the Training Program
The program is designed to equip SACCO practitioners with appropriate knowledge and skills to enable them carry out effective governance and management of SACCOs nationally or internationally.

Course Design
. The Professional Certificate in SACCO Management (PC-SACCOs) is a 9 months distance training program that targets board members, managers, and employees in SACCOs, government and other organizations staff working with SACCOs as well as private practitioners whose main aim is to acquire relevant expertise for supporting, supervising and managing SACCOs.

The level of training provides hands-on practical skills to manage SACCOs.
. Candidates undertake studies while at work
. Candidates are required to study seven modules specific for the professional management of SACCOs plus a practical assignment.
. The minimum entry qualification is a relevant Diploma or the equivalent.
. New intakes start in mid November of every year.
. Applications are normally received up to October 31st of every year and are available at all UCA offices in Koboko,Lira, Arua, Nebbi, Masindi, Mubende, Mbale, Jinja, Mukono, Masaka, Mbarara and Kampala. They may also be downloaded from UCA’s website under PFCMP Publication
